I’m sure most of you have heard about the newest Chic Management event, FAIR. FAIR will be a monthly themed event, this month’s theme being time. Each creation is about a certain time of the day. The Cotton Slip Set is paper.doll’s FAIR item this month. I love when an outfit is sweet and sexy at the same time. Not only that, but these make adorable tops. You can pair them with almost anything. My favorite way to wear it as a top would be to pair it with skinny jeans and some cute sandals, or flats.

I would like to make a couple of quick comments about the first picture in this post…well first of all, not sure how “quick” it will be. See? I’m already wasting time. First of all, I just now found out that Long Awkward Pose closed down for good while I was away. This makes me sad. In my opinion they are some of the best modeling poses on the grid. I’d like to wish Dove Swanson good luck in life and tell her what an honor it was blogging for her. I’m sure you’ll still see LAP on my credits now and then. A lot of times when I’m looking for a specific type of pose, that’s the folder I find it in…which leads me to the second thing I wanted to mention…

The poses in the first picture were meant to be stretching and yawning, just-woke-up types of poses. The more I look at it though, it looks like Poppy number one is singing loud and obnoxiously and Poppy number three is covering her ears. Poppy number two doesn’t seem to care.

I finally got to go shopping at Maitreya since they’ve released all of their new mesh items. I was blown away, as I’m sure most of you were, by how beautiful and well made every piece was.

I hope my photos do these pieces justice, and show the detail and how real these things look! I think of some of the handbags and shoes I wore early in my sl and cringe. I just don’t see myself cringing over anything I’ve ever purchased from Maitreya..even long, long ago in the prim era. :p

Poppy Returns from Outer Space

or as we sometimes call it, real life.

I couldn’t believe when I looked at my blog a week or so ago and realized that I’ve been away nearly 1 year! My how time flies..and I’ve missed blogging but it seemed every time I logged into sl my graphics were going from bad to worse. I tried to take some pics and it wouldn’t even let me go to the ultra setting..i was heartbroken.

I tried to upgrade my Mac. It was a 10.5.8 and to be able to upgrade, i needed to first upgrade to a disc that apple no longer sells. I found some independent sellers on amazon with 50/50 reviews..a few of the bad reviews stating that they had lost total use of their computer when trying the 59 dollar upgrade and of course, this made me very apprehensive.

Like I have my entire life when I have a problem I called my Dad and asked if he could help me investigate and find a way to do it. The next day my amazing Dad brings me over a new iMac. I was so overwhelmed, I couldn’t believe it. He said it was my birthday gift and he knows because of my special situation at home that my computing time is my biggest “outlet”…

So now…finally…I have shadows! I was so excited I cried, lol. I know that’s so corny but…whateva.

I was going through my inventory and I have nearly a years worth of things that generous designers have sent me to blog for them..plus since it’s turned into a mesh world while I’ve been away you can imagine the shopping that needs to be done! But I’m really going to make an effort not to let my blog make me feel overwhelmed and deadliney…I want it to be enjoyable for me and for you! Nevertheless, I do have some catching up to do..going to model some of the review copies and new things and freebies while I play with the lighting and see what I can do..be patient with me..while I’ve been gone I’ve renewbed…it really happens!

One more thing I’d like to add..well there are many things I’d like to add but I’m trying not to make this any lengthier than it already is..If you’ve contacted me and  I haven’t responded please forgive me..i literally fell off the face of sl for a while so I’m sure many messages and other things were overlooked and/or lost. I’ll be checking daily now so if you’d like to get in touch with me please drop me a notecard in world or leave me a message here.

I’m in a pickle with my flickr..I can’t remember my screen name, password, the email acct. I used to open it..on my old computer it just stayed logged on all the time..not now of course so I cannot get into my flickr Not sure if I should make a new one or keep on with the pain in the ass process of trying to make some sort of “breakthrough” with it.

For the first time since finding Poetic Colors I’ve been wearing a different brand of eyes for the past week or so, Fashism, and I love love love them. I’ll definitely be starting a collection. For my first pair I went out on a limb and now I have brown eyes for the first time in my lives. I love the doe eyed look…not to be confused with the “deer in the headlights look” (example below) :p

I’ve ventured out of my bubble once again..trying a little variety. These pics were taken in front of Poetic Color/kusshon..I was there picking up kussion’s free July gift (located in the front of the kusshon store)..they also have a new Poetic Color outlet store with all of their discontinued eye colors on sale for 100L$ a pack. The notecard stated that they weren’t sure how long the outlet would be up so take advantage of it asap..their older colors are actually my favorite, and include my all time favorite eyes ever, shallow water (worn in this post).

I’m in head to toe SMS in this shoot..well…actually ear to knee lol..SMS doesn’t sell hair and you can’t see my feet but I still haven’t been able to take off my new Maitreya Allegre heels, from the last post…I know we bloggers usually love to mix things up and wear items from many creators..but I loved this look so much I decided to throw caution to the wind and wear all SMS…I know, I know…I’m a rebel what can I say?? :p

just practicing on my photoshop shadows..since it’s not looking like I’m going to have them anytime soon. I’ve tried too many viewers to list that have given other Mac users shadows..I guess my graphics card isn’t up to date enough, I don’t know…any suggestions are welcomed!!

for the longest time i’ve had a favorite “go to” pair of short shorts in sl…I think the new Feel Free shorts by Boom may have taken their place…and please no comments about my bony ass…Poppy has been drinking chocolate milkshakes every day working on filling out These shorts look amazing with a full juicy booty…just sayin….they really do!

speaking of the pic below of course Why can’t more men in sl  put more effort, more personal touches, into their avi? Don’t they know the effect it has on us girls? Chances are, if you’re a male reading my blog, you do put effort into your avi..but you know the ones I’m talking about…and they get so offended when you try to help them out too.

For the longest time I thought…wow I must be really superficial if I care so much about what an avi looks like. But..I think that it 1) shows you that he is into the game as much as you are..not just some noob “logging on to get off”. 2) It also gives you a lot of insight into the person behind the avi…tells you if you’re tastes are similar…3) it shows you that they have a sense of creativity…an imagination. 4) tells you that they know that their avis are their personal works of art, basically representing who they are, or who they want the world to see them as…even if they are some sort of sci-fi creature…that still shows that you have an imagination and enjoy playing the game.

I could go on about this subject forever..oh! look! I have already..lol…and there are so many more reasons that, in my humble opinion, it is important to put work into your avi…make him or her your work of art, your representation of yourself or whatever you want to be…..those 4 reasons were just the first things that came to my mind…I’m sure there are many more numbers you could add…feel free to add them if you like
