If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been venturing out of my safe, little photo orb more lately. Lately as in, since I’m able to view shadows. Lol, I just imagined a follower reading this and shaking their head saying, “she’s not going to talk about them damn shadows again, is she??” No, I am not..well I guess I kind of just did, but I was leading up to something else. Location.
We all know that there are literally thousands of awesome places in sl to take pics, some well known, and some waiting to be discovered. I’m betting that most of us also know that exploring the grid, looking for different photo locales is an experience within itself. Anything is possible in this world! If you have the time, that is.
That’s something else that I’ve bitched about mentioned quite often. How I wish I had more time. So lately I’ve been collecting LM’s and doing some googling on places to take photographs in second life, or.. beautiful, unique places in second life..whatever key words i can think of at the time.

The showcase section, located in the destination guide (found in the search section of your viewer, or here) has a lot of neat places to take pictures. I’ve also got a special landmark folder that I call “cool places”…yes, I know, such a snazzy, original name. When I’m out shopping, or on a hunt, or whatever, and I see a place that I like, I landmark it and drag it into said folder.

I wanted to share a very helpful post I found in Through Salamander’s eyes,  by Moniq Salamander. I am keeping this page bookmarked for sure. There are all sorts of different tips and lists. There is a list of links called Locations and there are some really good ones, and some great sources to find more!

Now that I’m blogging again, I can feel my “skin fever” kicking in and I’ve been demo’ing skins all over the place. Only a matter of waiting for the linden fairy now. In the meantime I’ve been going through my “favorite skins” folder. Anything Rhapzody Wilde of Mynerva has ever made is in this folder. Plain Jane was my very first Mynerva skin. I wore more tanned skins back then..but I’m still in love with this skin..to me it looks very unique-fresh and young.

I’m not super excited about any of the photos I’ve taken yet with my new shadows and all. And they’re coming out with very light pencil like graph lines on them..i try to erase them in photoshop and when I shrink the pics down to blog/flickr size a lot of times you can’t see them…but sometimes you can. I need to do some more googling  and stalking blogs. And like I’ve said before, any sl photography or photoshop tips are appreciated!

I’ve ventured out of my bubble once again..trying a little variety. These pics were taken in front of Poetic Color/kusshon..I was there picking up kussion’s free July gift (located in the front of the kusshon store)..they also have a new Poetic Color outlet store with all of their discontinued eye colors on sale for 100L$ a pack. The notecard stated that they weren’t sure how long the outlet would be up so take advantage of it asap..their older colors are actually my favorite, and include my all time favorite eyes ever, shallow water (worn in this post).

I’m in head to toe SMS in this shoot..well…actually ear to knee lol..SMS doesn’t sell hair and you can’t see my feet but I still haven’t been able to take off my new Maitreya Allegre heels, from the last post…I know we bloggers usually love to mix things up and wear items from many creators..but I loved this look so much I decided to throw caution to the wind and wear all SMS…I know, I know…I’m a rebel what can I say?? :p

Just having a little fun in photoshop today…if time had permitted there would have been a boatful of Poppy’s…I even thought of putting tiny Poppy’s way in the back playing in the waterfall and making a “count the Poppys game”, lol..but alas…I only had time for one. Hello everyone! It feels like I’ve been away forever and I’m excited and hopeful to start blogging again. Thanks for the kind words while I was away, I’ve missed my blog and flickr buddies! I just needed a break badly and to put more focus on my rl…always a challenge to keep things in perspective…i mean..who wouldn’t rather be shopping and modeling designer clothes than changing poopy diapers and folding laundry?

My pocketbook needed a break too..Second Life fashion blogging is hands down, for me, the most expensive hobby/interest I’ve ever had…and it’s the designers fault…yall just make things too damn beautiful and irresistable!!! I’ve had lots of extra time to play and explore sl during my break..and i have acquired some amazing freebies that I wanted to share with you right away, while hopefully they are still available.

I’ve been doing a lot of shopping on The Marketplace. I figure it’s the sl equivalent to the Home Shopping Network since you can sit on your sl sofa in the privacy of your own home, cave, treehouse, spaceship…where ever it is that you call home in this crazy pixel world we live in.

So many awesome deals and freebies on the marketplace…you can modify your search to pull things up from lowest to highest priced…or you can look in the 0-10 Linden category..it’s a lot of fun, especially when you come across something good…

I’ve always loved outfits with nautical touches to them..if you’ve followed my blog for a while you can probably recall an outfit or two I’ve done in that fashion…Kyoot’s new Sailor’s Song top was one of her FLF items this week..I know that a lot of times the designers will leave them out a little longer so you may want to rush over there an see…her other FLF tops are awesome too…(stay tuned for those :p)

I’m wearing one of my BOOM demi edition shrugs again..they are available in so many colors and the perfect finishing touch for an outfit..you’ll be seeing me in these a lot..thinking of doing some sort of post with a whole bunch of my very favorite things..trying to think of a fun way to do it..but there are some items in my sl wardrobe that I just couldn’t live without..some that I can think of just off the top of my head..my kyoot leg warmers, my aoharu white button down top, these shrugs..I’m sure it would be a long list if I really started thinking about it lol…maybe a “my favorite things” series like Oprah :p
